Crab House - Cedar Rapids: Reviews & Ratings
If you love seafood boils then I highly recommend this place. Or if you love seafood and have never eaten a boil. We ordered 2 different boils. Boil 1 Low country boil (1/2 pound of shrimp, 4 sausage links, 2 corn of the cobs, 1/2 pound of crab, 2 hard boiled eggs) we finished it off with an additional 1/2 pound of shrimp and old bay butter seasoning. Boil 2 1 pound of shrimp, 1 corn on the cob, 1 potato. Finished in the house special sauce. These were both amazing, highly recommend. Total bill was $74.58 plus 15% tip. Service was fast and very easy for this being the first time I’ve ordered a seafood boil at a restaurant. Time to table was less than 15 minutes once ordered!!!
Was super excited to try this place, drove from Iowa city to check it out. It looks cool inside and it’s new and clean. The mozzarella sticks were good our waitress was attentive and everything came out fast. As an avid crab leg lover, I was disappointed in this boil. I opted for the king and queen boil. The crab was overcooked, they put a cluster of dungeness legs in (which Isn’t supposed to be in that one).
Celebrating a couple of birthdays and this is where they wanted to go Have never been here and all 5 of us really enjoyed our meal. We actually split two options that feed all of us and had a little bit of leftovers. We all said we would go back and bring others to enjoy. The waiter was very nice and helpful explaining what our options were.
Excellent food! Great service and friendly staff! We had a great time and very full belly's when we left! And the fries were gluten free, that's a huge plus for me.
Pretty decent seafood boil for Midwest standards. Sauce could’ve been more buttery but good texture. Mild was perfect spice. Crab legs were a little thin, shrimps, sausage, potatoes, corn, and eggs were all good. Friendly service and food came out pretty quick.
Food was ok. Appears that when you ask for their "roasted brussels sprouts" it means "burnt". Had garlic shrimp and had no flavor. Not sure what the sauce was on it but it was sticky and no taste. The side salad was great....very big. Others had lobster tail and crab and both were over cooked. However, their cajun french fries were pretty tasty. Service was nothing exciting. Brought our friend's meal after the rest of us were almost done. Not sure if they forgot him or just had other orders. While bringing other dishes, they didn't take the empty dishes so you had no real room to enjoy your main entrees. For the price, think we are going to try another place.
Very calm & nice atmosphere. Service was smooth. Food was flavorful and spicy as asked.
